THE q-POCHHAMMER SYMBOLS AT q=1

Abstract. Watson provided an asymptotic estimation of the Euler function $(q;q)_\infty$ when $q\to1-$. In this short note we reprove and extend his results using Gosper's $q$-trigonometric functions.
